Trainers' profiles

Chadiga (Tiga for short) has spent the majority of her life surrounded by more four than two legged family. Her family have always worked within the animal welfare sector and owned and fostered many rescue dogs so she is very excited to be working with the Dogs Trust and looks forwards to meeting and training lots of Devon dogs and their owners.

With a background in working with all sorts of dogs, having previously worked as a dog trainer, behaviourist and boarding kennel manager, Tiga is passionate about all things animal and always keen to have a natter with other willing dog owners. Tiga is keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for all things dog, with special emphasis on achieving a happy dog-owner relationship and ensuring that dogs are prepared for everything that life might throw at them!

Tiga has two blue merle collies, with which she has previously competed in Agility competitions, tried her hand at heelwork to music, dog frisbee, man-trailing and PAT therapy. She loves taking them on long walks, exploring new areas and having recently moved to Devon, she is excited to have a brand new patch of walks to try out.

Dawn is originally from Northern Ireland and has had a passion for animal welfare her whole life, having worked for various charities. Having gained a degree in Equine Management and worked as a horse riding instructor, she is keen to bring those skills together with her dog knowledge to Dog School Devon.

Dawn has experience with various breeds and particularly enjoys working with anxious dogs to help build their confidence. She enjoys taking her “borrowed” collies, Oscar and Ralph for long walks on the beach, no matter the weather!

Cheryl started her lifelong animal career training and qualifying as a veterinary nurse at a national animal charity hospital in London where she grew up. She went on to successfully run her own boarding cattery business before gaining qualifications in business studies and dog grooming. Cheryl then moved to Devon where she set up her own mobile grooming and pet care business. Further to this, she has also achieved basic qualifications in counselling and is therefore adept in understanding and communicating with both animals and their owners alike!

Over the years Cheryl has offered her home to numerous furry and feathered pets in need, including several hundred guinea pigs that she rescued and rehabilitated. Although she grew up with Dobermans, she is currently owned by two rather cheeky Pugs as well as five indoor-kept guinea pigs. In her not so spare time, she likes to indulge her creative streak by making jewellery and also enjoys going to music concerts. Animal welfare and canine psychology continue to be subjects close to Cheryl’s heart and so she is very excited to be a part of the Dog School Team.
