Trainers' profiles

Chadiga (Tiga for short) has spent the majority of her life surrounded by more four than two legged family. Her family have always worked within the animal welfare sector and owned and fostered many rescue dogs so she is very excited to be working with the Dogs Trust and looks forwards to meeting and training lots of Devon dogs and their owners.

With a background in working with all sorts of dogs, having previously worked as a dog trainer, behaviourist and boarding kennel manager, Tiga is passionate about all things animal and always keen to have a natter with other willing dog owners. Tiga is keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for all things dog, with special emphasis on achieving a happy dog-owner relationship and ensuring that dogs are prepared for everything that life might throw at them!

Tiga has two blue merle collies, with which she has previously competed in Agility competitions, tried her hand at heelwork to music, dog frisbee, man-trailing and PAT therapy. She loves taking them on long walks, exploring new areas and having recently moved to Devon, she is excited to have a brand new patch of walks to try out.

Dawn is originally from Northern Ireland and has had a passion for animal welfare her whole life, having worked for various charities. Having gained a degree in Equine Management and worked as a horse riding instructor, she is keen to bring those skills together with her dog knowledge to Dog School Devon.

Dawn has experience with various breeds and particularly enjoys working with anxious dogs to help build their confidence.  Whilst Dawn loves dogs of all shapes and sizes, Bull breeds have a real place in her heart.

Dawn has a real interest in enrichment and loves to learn new ways to make dogs’ lives better. She has her own rescued Boxer called Princess, who she enjoys teaching tricks to, and is hoping to start agility soon!

Jemma joins the Dog School team in her home county, Devon. She grew up riding horses and began to work with dogs when she was 16. After a few years teaching puppy and agility classes, she has spent the last 2 years working at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home where she worked with a wide range of dogs, some with very challenging behaviours. Jemma is passionate about learning new methods and enjoys being creative to solve problems when she works with dogs.

Outside of Dog School, Jemma is a big rugby fan and has played for the last 18 months. She will often be seen at her local club helping on the sidelines. Jemma has a 7-year-old Beagle called Lily who she enjoys trying new things with; they have done scent work, flyball, agility and more. Lily has a real sense of adventure and they can often be found exploring Woodbury Common on their days off!
