Glasgow Summer Workshops

Summer holidays may be over, but the fun doesn’t stop...

With the Glasgow schools summer holidays drawing to a close, the team here at Dog School Glasgow can reflect on some of the families and dogs that we had the pleasure of meeting at our free family workshops.  These were held at the Dogs Trust Glasgow rehoming centre and were delivered by the Dog School team in conjunction with our Education Community Officer Gemma.  The children who attended these workshops were able to learn how to act safely around dogs as well as how to teach their own dogs simple behaviours using positive reward based methods.

During the 90 minute sessions, It was great to see the enthusiasm and knowledge the families already possessed and how they carried this passion over into the training topics we covered on the day.  With each class culminating in a game using what the dogs had learnt.

Learning new tricks and skills and having fun!

As an added bonus, we also gave each of the children who attended the workshop the opportunity to suggest the names our two new stuffy dog school team members, one of which is a Yorkie and the other a black Lab.  After the final workshop of the summer holidays we would then randomly chose 2 winners.  We are excited to reveal that these have now been chosen; we are proud to present Marcel the Yorkie and Ollie the Lab!

Our Family workshops may be taking a break for now but we are still offering places on our puppy, rescue and adult classes throughout Glasgow and the surrounding areas.  For more information or to complete an enquiry you can visit http://dogstrustdogschool.org.uk/dog-school/glasgow/ or Alternatively you can also contact us on 07920 658653 or by email at  glasgowdogschool@dogstrust.org.uk
