Our 2017 in review!

Dog School Glasgow officially launched back in early 2017, and what a year it’s been!

After a few team changes earlier in the year, we welcomed new coaches Nathalie in May and Jill in August to complete the team alongside Senior Coach John Paul. With a wealth of experience between us, we’ve settled in together as a team really well and are completely committed to helping you and your dog as much as we possibly can!

This year we got to meet so many amazing dogs and owners, pictured below are just a handful of the gorgeous faces we saw through our classes. We’ve had consistently lovely feedback from the owners at the end of the classes; it’s great to hear how helpful they’ve found coming along. Simba and Sporsail, both on the left-hand side of the collage, are among those who had such a great time at puppy class they’ve come back again for adult classes to continue on with their training!

It’s such a pleasure to be able to work with all the owners and their dogs, and we love nothing more than seeing everyone’s progress week on week throughout the course. It’s especially rewarding when those dogs who were a bit less confident or needed a little extra help make incredible progress in the 5 weeks – you can read our past blog posts following the stories of Arla, Bonnie, Lola and Enya if you missed them!

Last year we started running classes at some lovely new venues – Ferniegair Hall in Hamilton, Newton Mearns Parish Church and Mount Vernon Community Hall. We’ll be looking to expand where we can this year so we can cover as many areas of Glasgow as possible!

We went along to a few different events and fairs last year and love getting to chat to people and spread the word about Dog School, this is something we want to be doing more of this year so keep an eye out for us out and about!

We’ll also be aiming to hold some talks for dog owners throughout the year on various topics such as “Preparing for Fireworks Night”, or “Preparing for a New Baby”. We’ll let you know on our social media what we have coming up so if you’d like to keep up to date you can follow us on

Instagram (@dogschoolglasgow) and Twitter (@dogschoolglasgw).

We’re all very excited to see what 2018 is going to bring both for the Glasgow team and Dog School as a whole!

We’d love to see you and your dog at one of our classes! If you’d like to work on some training together while having lots of fun along the way, you can either fill in the online enquiry form on our website, or email us at glasgowdogschool@dogstrust.org.uk to find out more!
