Introducing the Newest Member of Dog School Shropshire

Hi, I’m Kerrianne a new Coach that has recently started at Dog School Shropshire. I was originally a Canine Carer from Dogs Trust Manchester. In my role as Canine Carer, I carried out a variety of duties including daily care, handling and training of many rescue dogs.

I have always had a strong passion for working with animals since a very young age, once the end of school fast approached I knew animals were the next big step. I had to give my all to ensure I could pursue what I loved, so I was very pleased to achieve a Triple Distinction in my Animal Management qualification.

To further help my dream I started voluntary work with whatever animals I could. I found voluntary work very rewarding and educational, from Blackpool Zoo with large mammals, to the smallest of animals at Blackpool and North Lancs RSPCA and even giant rescue Shire Horses.

I finished my Higher Education, as well as carrying out voluntary work for 4 years. I then managed to land my Canine Carer position in Manchester. I learnt so much in this role, such as how to work with a variety of temperaments from shy little Chihuahuas to boisterous chunky Staffies who want to lick you in the face.

Sometimes I fell in love with these dogs and spent a lot of time training them to help them find their “furever” home. It was working with giant loveable Hank, and helping him to learn to walk on his new harness which made me realise that I wanted to move to Dog School and help more dogs and their owners with these types of tasks.

I enjoy nothing more than knowing we are making a difference to so many dogs and owners lives, to be able to assist in seeing a bond form between a dog and their owner is just amazing, which is why I know I have the best job ever!

Kerrianne has already started teaching dog training classes with Dog School Shropshire at our Nantwich venue, so if you’d like to bring your four-legged friend to meet her, call us on 01948 302 991, or email shropshiredogschool@dogstrust.org.uk.
