A Big Thank You to Our Volunteers!

by Beth McDonald // July 2018

If you have ever attended our classes, you probably have noticed some smiley faces dressed in red. These smiley faces are our volunteers and we would be lost without them.

From 1st June till 8th June it’s Volunteers Week and it made Dog School Shropshire think of all our amazing volunteers that help us out in our classes and at events and we wanted to do a special blog to show that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

The duties of a Dog School volunteer are to help assist the coaches in classes. Some examples of what they do are; help set up the venue and pack away, checking all the dogs have water, helping owners and made sure everyone and their dogs are happy!

Wendy is one of our longest volunteers at Dog School Shropshire, she has achieved over 100 hours of volunteering and every Wednesday she comes to our Shrewsbury venue with a huge smile on her face. When she reached 100 hours she got her certificate of recognition.

We make sure at Dog School Shropshire that every owner has a personal positive experience, having our brilliant volunteers gives us that extra pair on hands so we can make sure we can speak to you all and see how you are all getting on with the training elements.

If you see our volunteers in any of our classes or at events, please say hello to them! You may even see them sometimes dressed up in funny outfits to help your dog practice their training with some added distractions, but you have to promise not to laugh!

If you are interested in dog training classes in Shropshire and Cheshire for you and your four-legged friend please email shropshiredogschool@dogstrust.org.uk or call 01948 302991. You can also follow us on social media to see what we and our volunteers get up in classes!
