Dog School Worcestershire

Welcome to Dog School Worcestershire

Here at Dog School Worcestershire, we run classes for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs in a welcoming, fun, accessible and interactive environment. We will work with you to support and deepen the bond between you and your dog using reward based training techniques.

We will provide you with the care and support you need to learn more about your dog, their body language and positive training methods. We want you and your four legged friend to have all the skills you need to live happy lives alongside each other.

We believe a happy dog makes a happy owner. We look forward to meeting you soon and being able to share our passion with you.

Trainers' profiles

Katherine has worked as a teacher and headteacher for children with special needs for over 20 years and is a firm believer in the power of education and training to change lives.

Since rescuing a border collie from Dogs Trust (then NCDL) over 15 years ago, her passion for dog training and behaviour has grown. She undertook a Dog Training Instructor course with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) 4 years ago and made the decision to make a career change. Since then she has volunteered with Dogs Trust in kennels and worked as a dog trainer for a reward-based training company. She is currently studying for an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management.

Katherine loves all animals, having rabbits and guinea pigs at home as well as her beloved dog. She looks forward to the day where she has enough land to expand her menagerie!

Gina completed her Masters of research degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of West England and Bachelors degree in Animal Science with Care and Management at Canterbury Christ Church University. Whilst studying for her undergraduate degree Gina spent a lot of her free time gaining voluntary experience in a variety of animal care roles, including at a wildlife hospital, with a water vole captive breeding project and at a small independent animal sanctuary. Gina also worked during the holiday seasons at the largest boarding kennels in Leicestershire, where she worked with a wide variety of dog breeds and temperaments in a professional capacity.

Since graduating from her first degree Gina has worked within several animal rescue environments, starting with a Blue Cross rehoming centre where she primarily worked with the dogs, to a year at an RSPCA centre working with cats, to a role in both kennels and education at Cheltenham Animal Shelter. Gina enjoys working with all animals, especially in a training and behaviour capacity, however, her speciality and passion lies with pet and rescue dogs. During her free time, Gina can be found either walking her family’s dogs (working type beagle and Labradors, as well as a border collie and rescue Saluki cross greyhound) or in her horse’s field, often with a dog in tow.

Gina is very excited to start her role as a Senior Coach and is looking forward to meeting you all.

Kimberley has been working as a Dog Trainer for Evesham Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre for the past year where she has helped to rehabilitate and rehome some of the longer term dogs, as well as provide training advice and help to new adopters.

Prior to this she worked with Guide Dogs for the Blind as a trainer after previously completing a FDSC in Animal Welfare and Behaviour at University West of England, where she won the award for top student for all her hard work throughout the course.

Kimberley owns a beautiful but very nervous rescue Lurcher called Angel who after a difficult start to life has had to overcome a lot of fears - including other dogs, new people and coping alone.  Kimberley, therefore, has a particular passion for working with nervous dogs and helping with their confidence.

Dog School Worcestershire In Week 4 of our classes we introduce the fun world of Trick Training to our owners. Trick Training is great fun for our dogs, and for us, and helps us to practise the principles of teaching our dogs new skills. Here you can see Sapphire, one of the Dogs Trust Evesham's Canine Carers, working hard with Dan teaching him how to bow. Dan is one of the centre's dogs currently available for adoption, who is attending our classes on a Wednesday evening with Sapphire. #Wednesdaywisdom #funwithdogs #rescuedog #adoptme #rottweiler #tricktraining #bow #positivetraining #positivereinforcement #DogsTrust #Dogschool

Dog School Worcestershire #toptiptuesday sometimes toys don't need to be expensive or shop bought, as office dog Callie is here to show you - for some dogs a tennis ball in an old sock can be even better than an actual toy 😅😍 #dogstagram #DogsTrust #Dogschool #rescuedog #canineenrichment #enrichment #play #funwithdogs
